Meet the trainers!

Tiffany Emig

Certified Professional Dog Trainer, CPTD -KA. Owner of Enchanted Ranch, and Hobby Breeder of European Golden Retrievers at Enchanted Retrievers

I’ve been training dogs since I was a kid. I still remember the local park where I did dog classes, and I was always the one that took our dogs (and my dogs were always the best ones in the class!). Growing up, every time we got a new puppy, I was always the one that got to train it. I can clearly remember the park we trained in, and remember taking our dogs to puppy classes. It was my job!

My husband John and I met at Petland after high school - he worked in reptiles, and I was the puppy girl. At the time, I was going to vet tech school (I struggled with organic chemistry and it ended up not being my path - but at least it led me here!). To this day, our mutual love for animals drives our passion at Enchanted Ranch Dog Training, and at Enchanted Retrievers.

Professionally, I’ve been training since May 2019. However, I have been training dogs for my entire life! I worked in the corporate world for 20 years, but it wasn’t feeding my soul. One day, I decided that I was done and that I was going to pursue my passion. After deciding to transition into doing this full-time, I’ve never looked back! Although dog training is hard work, I couldn’t ask for better clients and coworkers!

I became a trainer almost eight years ago after adopting Odin, a particularly difficult puppy. He was, and still is, my motivation to continue furthering my skills in dog training. I primarily offer in-home training, at the pet’s home, but also teach group classes at the Enchanted Ranch Training Center. Whether you’re looking for help with: behavior modification, tricks, basics, or something in between, I’m here to help.

So much has changed in the dog training world just in the last ten years. As a science-based trainer, I am continually educating myself with the newest information and best training practices. My goal is to grow not only as a trainer, but also as a person. I am a proud member of Fear Free Pets and will continue to train without pain, force, fear or intimidation.

Dogs already know how to sit and lie down, so I see myself as more of a translator than a dog trainer. I’m here to bridge the communication gap between humans and our best, non-verbal furry friends. Thanks to my and Odin’s love of learning, I’ve become a certified Trick Dog Instructor and a Canine Good Citizen Evaluator. I’ve also taken my smallest dog through the Therapy Dog Certification process.
